Talia,
If I’m reading the table correctly, the lowest raw marks (ie NOT percentages) for C1 May 2006 are:
A 60/75
B 52/75
C 44/75
D 37/75
E 30/75
Hope this helps.

Hi Talia,
You could try the OCR website: their past papers and mark schemes are free to download. The syllabus won’t be that different to Edexcel.

Is there any possibility of having the May 07 mark schemes?
We might have already been given them, but i’m in America at the moment so haven’t got all my bits of paper with me.
Also, on Jan 06, is 65/75 an A?
Thank you

Happy new year Emily
Convert the raw mark to a percentage then go 80, 70, 60, 50, 40 for the grade boundaries.
Can’t help with the mark scheme – sorry. If Mr R looks in, he might be able to help you.
Hope you are having a good time.

hello can anyone help with question 2 from may 2006 or question 6 from may 2005?

Q6 from May 2005 – see A level pure thread where Emma asked the same question.
I’ll just go and look at the other one for you now.

Factorise the quadratic.
The brackets will tell you where the graph crosses the x axix ( y = 0 )
Sketch the curve – it’s a happy parabola!
Since the inequality says >0 (greater than 0) you want the regions where the curve is above the axis ie the left and right bits; not the middle cos that’s below and therefore < 0.
Does that make sense Talia?

Are there any mark schemes for the specimen papers we were given?
Also, in the exam are we allowed to write in pencil and fountain pen? or does it have to be a biro?
By: Marianna on January 3, 2008
at 7:16 pm
You can write in fountain pen but have black ink as it scans better than blue.
Only draw, don’t write, in pencil.
